Since areas in and around Atascosa, such as San Antonio are frequently visited every year, residents Lizzie Pearson and Armando Araiza have decided to jump on the Airbnb bandwagon. They often spend time in home-sharing properties when traveling throughout Europe and other parts of the U.S. What they decided to do with their property was to include the things that mattered to them when they used similar properties. This includes things as simple as the cream for their coffee and crisp white sheets. Pearson said they tried to think of everything that a traveler would need. This has led to many five-star reviews. In addition to being great hosts, this has made them grow to appreciate their home even more. Due to their business venture, they now realize how much they actually appreciate their city. It has enabled them to fall in love with the city again. Since they have been successful in their Airbnb endeavors, they now lend their expertise to other home-share hosts.
Attending to the Small Things
Even though most hosts will usually provide coffee, they may not provide the cream and sugar that some may want with their coffee. They encourage them to provide both milk and sugar. It’s a small thing but guests will appreciate your thinking enough to offer it. There are times when houseguests will forget something. It’s nice to know that when they do, their hosts have provided the basics. The basics would include things like dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and perhaps a first aid kit. If you really want to be generous and be a good host, like Pearson, you may want to offer your houseguests water, fresh baked goods, and chewing gum. They suggest providing a small speaker that your guests can attach to their phone so they can listen to music. When on vacation, people don’t like the inconvenience of trying to find a drugstore to buy the things they forget. Not having to do this will allow them to settle in and concentrate on enjoying their vacation. They have even dropped their guests back off at the airport. It’s the small things that the guests will remember and that make the biggest difference.
Don’t Personalize It
While you want to give your guest a feeling of being at home, you don’t want them to feel like they are in someone else’s home. Pearson says that it is fine to paint the space a color you like or incorporate your own design style but refrain from hanging up family pictures. Instead, add some cultural interests, like art. However, this shouldn’t be included in the bedroom. This might be uncomfortable for some people. Instead, use crisp white linen and nice towels, guests appreciate these things.
Act Like a Host
A good host will provide guests with a guide to their city. You can do this by typing up some of the most popular places to eat, local eateries, and other places of interest. It is also helpful to include a map of the area.
